Spanish Grand Prix
Circuit Transfer Information
You have been emailed your morning coach departure time. Our transfers will have multiple stops on Saturday and Sunday. Please be ready and waiting 5 minutes before the stated departure time, as the coach will leave promptly. Do make sure you leave enough time to get from your grandstand or hospitality area to the coach at the end of each day
Circuit departure times
The coaches will depart from the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya at the following times:
SATURDAY
19:00
SUNDAY
17:45
If you are not at the coach pick up point by the stated departure time, and you have not made us aware you’re not taking the coach transfer (either in person to one of the MST team, or via the emergency telephone number at the foot of this information guide), we will assume you will make your own way, which will be at your own cost.
Coach Parking
If you have a general admission or grandstand ticket, the following will apply The circuit is surrounded by an industrial estate which is used for the coach parking over the race weekend – this is known as COACH PARK C. On arrival please make yourself familiar with the drop off point of your coach parking location, as this will be the same location as your departure point. The MST staff will be located on the roundabout near the CAFE VIENA to point you in the correct direction at the end of each day. Each coach has a number, please make sure that you are on the correct coach. For guests with Hospitality tickets (Coach 1), a separate parking area will be allocated on the day, your departure will be from the same location.
Our MST team members Nicola, Holly, Leo and Craig will be on hand over the weekend. They will also be accompanying the coach transfers, should you need anything. You can also contact us via the emergency telephone number at the foot of this information guide, should you need to.
You don’t require a voucher for your circuit transfers.
Please remember a mask must be worn at all times during the circuit transfers as this remains the law in Spain unless otherwise instructed.
If you’re heading to the Public Pit Lane Walk on Thursday, do be prepared to queue as you enter the pit lane! It does get very busy, but it is a great experience and Nicola will be on hand to get you to and from the circuit. Do bring a pen and something to be signed in case you are lucky enough to see one of your favourite drivers or team members – our tip is to head straight to the garage of your favourite driver, try and get a good position and wait for the drivers to come out. From experience, Mercedes and Ferrari tend to be the busiest two.
There is very little shade at the circuit, so do bring good sun protection, sunglasses and a hat and do wear comfortable footwear. We always also recommend bringing a waterproof just in case, and hand wipes or tissues and hand sanitiser are a good idea.
Do have a walk around the circuit – this is one of the few circuits where you can walk around the majority of the spectator areas, and the public areas are all connected with asphalted pathways and there are some great track views to be had.
Food and drink are available inside the circuit, although the selection is fairly limited.
With the exception of the Garden Village, Sky View Racing Lounge and other Hospitality areas, Spanish law prohibits the sale of alcohol at the public food and beverage outlets, so do be aware that the beer served in the main areas is rather expensive non-alcoholic beer. If you fancy a beer, wait until the end of the day, and then head out of the gates towards Coach Park C as there are usually several food tents and cafes serving alcohol. Cafe Viena, close to the coach parking for our Grandstand coaches, also serves alcohol.
NB: Once you have left the circuit, you may not be re-admitted the same day so do check with marshals before leaving.

Understanding your ticket
Of course, details are in Spanish so unless you have a grasp of the language, tickets can be a bit confusing.
Abono 3 Días – this indicates you have a 3-day ticket
Tribuna and Zona – Tribuna is your grandstand – some grandstands are also split into numbered zones.
Fila – this is your row number.
Asiento or Butaca – this is your seat number.
Alta or Baja – if you are seated in the Main Grandstand, this is split into the upper section (Alta) and the Lower section (Baja). Make sure you head to the correct section, as the zones, rows and seat numbers are replicated in the upper and lower sections
You can bring water or a soft drink, provided it is in a plastic or laminated paper bottle no more than 500ml in volume or 500g in weight. The security staff reserve the right to remove the caps from bottles. Containers made of metal, glass, ceramic, wood or similar materials are not permitted. It is not possible to enter the circuit with alcohol, due to their no alcohol policy. Tents, parasols and umbrellas are not permitted as they may hinder the view of other fans. Visitors are not permitted to make/create/store/record or transmit any sound recording or audio visual footage of the event. Personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, cameras or hand held personal communication devices are allowed as long as the images are for private, personal and non commercial use. The race organisers kindly request that you do not bring long lens attachments, as they can be obtrusive and may restrict the view of other ticket holders

By attending, you are agreeing to the circuit’s terms & conditions of entry.
Our Hints & Tips
TAXIS & LIMOS Should you decide to take a taxi over the race weekend, do make sure you have plenty of cash in case they do not accept cards. In previous years the drivers have offered a fixed fare between Barcelona and the circuit over the race weekend, which amounted to €80.00 each way in 2019, but may increase this year. Always make sure you take a licensed official taxi, as there are many unlicensed cabs around over the race weekend. You can find further information on the button below
TRAINS If you’re heading to the circuit on the Friday, or want to travel on Saturday & Sunday at alternative times to our circuit transfers, it is an easy train journey to Montmeló and we’ve done the legwork so you don’t have to…We recommend travelling from the PASSEIG DE GRACIA station.
The mainline (overground) station is signposted with “Renfe’ and ‘Rodalies’ signs, which are the train companies running the main train service in Barcelona. Follow the signs to the mainline station, from where you can take the train to Montmeló. It can be slightly confusing, as the mainline station is underground at Passeig de Gracia, but just look out for the green R2 line.
You can view the train times by clicking the button below – just select your stations as Passeig de Gràcia and Montmeló. Tickets can be purchased from the vending machines (cash or card) and a 2-zone ticket costs €2.80 per person each way. You can also buy a Bonotren 10 Journey ticket which gives you a ticket valid for 10 journeys and can be used by more than one person at the same time, provided your origin and destination are the same – this is also available from the ticket machines and a 2-zone ticket costs €16.35.
Trains between Passeig de Gràcia and Montmeló run on the green R2 line, in the direction of Granollers.
Once you leave the train at Montmeló station, follow the signs (and the crowds!) through the village of Montmeló to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. It’s about a 30 minute walk, so do wear comfortable shoes. Usually there are stalls set up on the roadside along the way selling drinks and snacks at reasonable prices, and the small high street in Montmeló is usually bustling, with plenty of cafes open selling snacks and drinks to take away.
If you prefer not to walk then there are usually shuttle buses running from the top of Montmeló high street on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (again, follow the crowds) – they cost a few euros and you can pay on board. They drop off and pick up outside Viena Cafe, close to Gates 3, 4 & 5.
CELLARER Located around the corner from most of our hotels, this little bar is one that, as a tourist, you would probably walk past however, we highly recommend that you stop for a wine, beer or some tapas as it is a real surprise find in Barcelona and a favourite of the MST staff. Do book a table as it does get busy most evenings.
El Nacional El Nacional is the first restaurant in Barcelona with different areas where you can try traditional recipes from around the Iberian Peninsula, prepared with high quality produce in unique surroundings. Located at the heart of Passeig de Gràcia, it reflects Barcelona’s social and cultural life. Located down an alley way, once there, it certainly has the wow factor!
La Boqueria If you are heading to La Rambla and doing the tourist thing, make sure you walk into the famous market. Fish, fruit, vegetables, meat, it’s all here along with some of the finest little tapas bars the city has to offer. It is a great place to pick up a fresh juice or coffee before continuing to explore the city.
